Situation in the ATO area as of May 26, 2016
The enemy continues fire influence on the ATO forces
units. It was noted that the adversary shelled 28 times from the small
arms, grenade launchers, anti-tank guided missile, anti-aircraft systems
ZU-23-2, IFV, and 82-mm mortars. The attacks were, as follows: 1 attack
– Stanytsia Luhanska (Novoaidar direction), 5 attacks – Novozvanivka
(Sieverodonetsk direction), 7 attacks – Luhanske, Zaitseve (Sloviansk
direction), 8 attacks – Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Mariinka (Donetsk
direction), 3 attacks – Berezove, Novotroitske (Volnovakha direction), 4
attacks – Hnutove, Shyrokyne (Mariupol direction).
It is continued strengthening and rotation of the advanced units, positions’ fortification, and improving the accuracy of objects for fire damage in the following directions:
Sieverodonetsk direction. A motorized rifle company (10 IFVs) of the 6th separate motorized rifle regiment (Stakhanov) of the 2nd AC (Luhansk) of the Russian Armed Forces was deployed to Pervomaisk;
Mariupol direction. A rotation of the advanced units of the 9th separate assault motorized rifle regiment of Marine Corps (Novoazovsk) in the areas of Kominternove, Bezimenne was carried out. There was confirmed a location of the unit of the separate reconnaissance battalion of the 1st AC (Donetsk) of the Russian Armed Forces.
To make reconnaissance of ATO forces’ combat formations and to determine the objectives for fire damage in tactical depth of defence, nine UAVs were involved in the following directions: Sloviansk direction (Druzhkivka; Konstantynivka-Bakhmut-Horlivka; Yenakiieve), Donetsk direction (four UAVs in the areas of Avdiivka; Makiivka – Donetsk) and Volnovakha direction (Zlatoustivka).
Within the framework of the logistics supply of the troops, deployed in the occupied territories of Donbas, from the Russian Federation:
eight wagons with ammo (320 tons), six platforms with AICVs arrived to the railway station of Debaltseve;
ten tractor trucks with tanks and SP arty sys, repaired in the territory of Russia, were moved through Saurivka in the direction of Donetsk.
The Ukrainian side informed the representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine about the presence of tanks in the areas of Horlivka, Oleksandrivsk and Debaltseve.
Other losses among the servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces 1st AC (Donetsk) were noted.
On May 24-25, 2016, seven deceased were delivered to the morgue of Donetsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after Kalinin, nine wounded Russian servicemen – to the Donetsk Clinical Hospital №6, seven wounded servicemen who tried to attack the ATO forces units in Donetsk direction – to the Donetsk Clinical Hospital №14.
On May 25, 2016, three servicemen of the 3rd separate motorized rifle brigade (Horlivka) were wounded;
On May 24, 2016, one serviceman was killed and another one was wounded of the reconnaissance company of regiment who tried to carry out raid in the ATO forces’ rear area within the SRG, as a result of piecemeal actions with forward positions of the 2nd motorized rifle battalion of the 11th separate motorized rifle regiment (Makiivka).
In view of losing of motivation for participation in the armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine and deepening of difficulties of financial and social support, the level of moral and psychological condition of the servicemen of the 1st AC of the Russian Armed Forces continues to low.
On May 24, 2016, six servicemen of the 9th separate assault motorized rifle regiment of Marines Corps (Novoazovsk) of the 1st AC willfully left advanced positions in the area of Kominternove and wrote reports for dismissal.
