The enemy continued fire influence on the ATO forces
units. It was noted that the adversary shelled 10 times from the small
arms, grenade launchers, IFVs, 82-mm and 120-mm mortars. The attacks
were, as follows: 2 attacks – Krymske, Stepne (Sieverodonetsk
direction), 1 attack – Novozvanivka (Sloviansk direction), 2 attacks –
Avdiivka (Donetsk direction), 4 attacks – Novotroitske (Volnovakha
direction), 1 attack – Shyrokyne (Mariupol direction).
The enemy conducted rotation and strengthened the advanced units in the following directions:
Novoaidar direction: the units of the 2
nd separate motorized rifle brigade (Luhansk) of the 2
nd AC (Luhansk) of the Russian Armed Forces have conducted position hardening in the direction of Stanytsia Luhanska;
Sieverodonetsk direction: a mixed artillery unit was deployed to area of responsibility of the 6
th separate motorized rifle regiment (Stakhanov) of the 2
nd AC;
Sloviansk direction: unit of the 10
th
separate Special Forces brigade (Molkino, Krasnodar krai) of the
Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces was deployed from
Krasnodar krai to Luhansk;
Volnovakha direction: sniper groups were deployed to the area of Dokuchaievsk. There is engineered fortified structure in the areas of Telmanove and Komsomolske;
Mariupol direction: a sniper unit arrived to the area of Bezimenne, a part of which was deployed in the direction of Shyrokyne.
The projection of the POL, ammunition, weapons and military equipment
from the Russian Federation continues. On May 12, 2016, three “Tiger”
armored vehicles, fuel servicing truck and two trucks with ammunition
were moved to
Novoazovsk.
Other losses among SRGs of the 1
st AC (Donetsk) of the Russian Armed Forces personnel were noted.
On May 12, 2016, three deceased and three wounded servicemen of the 1
st
AC delivered to Makiivka municipal hospital №1, and four deceased and
three wounded ones – to Donetsk regional clinical hospital named after
Kalinin.
The Ukrainian side informed the representatives of the OSCE Special
Monitoring Mission to Ukraine about the presence of tanks, artillery
systems with more than 100-mm, SP artillery systems, 122-mm MLRS “Hrad”
and 300-mm MLRS “Smerch” in the areas of Pervomaisk, Luhansk, Ternove,
Donetsk, Pervomaiske and Mius.
Other evidences of the participation of the career Russian servicemen of the Regular Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the combat actions in the East of Ukraine
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine continues to purposefully gather
facts considering the participation of the Russian Armed Forces career
servicemen who concealing their personal data and using fictitious
documents, have participated in combat actions in the temporarily
occupied territories of the East of Ukraine for onward transferring of
the evidential base of such war crimes to the International Criminal
Court, according to the established procedure. The Ukrainian side
regularly conveys the information on Russian servicemen suspected of
committing war crimes in the territory of Ukraine to the EU and NATO
member states, also in order to enlarge the "sanction" list.
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine established that the position of
“the commander of the 3rd separate motorized rifle brigade (Horlivka) of the 1st AC (Donetsk) of
the Center of the Territorial Forces (Novocherkask, Russia) of the
Southern Military District (Rostov-on-Don) of the Russian Armed Forces”
holds Lieutenant Colonel of the Russian Armed Forces
MAKSYMOV Oleksandr Valeriiovych (MAKSIMOV Aleksandr Valeryevich).
To perform criminal orders of the military-political leadership of
Russia in the temporarily occupied territories of the East of Ukraine,
Lieutenant Colonel of the Russian Armed Forces O.MAKSYMOV was seconded
in March, 2015, from the position of
the commander of the 3rd separate motorized rifle battalion of the 102nd military base (military unit №04436, Hiumri, the Republic of Armenia) of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces.
It was additionally established that at the end of 2014, Lieutenant
Colonel of the Russian Armed Forces O.MAKSYMOV tried to appeal, by
judicial procedure, against the decision of the commander of the
102nd military base Colonel of the
Russian Armed Forces A.RUZYNSKYI, concerning the imposing disciplinary
action but under the pressure of the command he had to relinquish court
action to the 5
th military garrison court (Yerevan,
the Republic of Armenia).
The fact of participation in hostilities in the temporarily occupied
territories of the East of Ukraine gives an opportunity to Lieutenant
Colonel Oleksandr MAKSYMOV to hope for final remark’s remission and
continuation of military service.

Additionally established that taking in view of anticipation of
routine replacement (May, 2016), to receive benefits for calculation of
length of service, service and military rank promotion in the Russian
Armed Forces, the officers of the 1
st AC (Donetsk) of the
Russian Armed Forces are trying “decide an issue” on formal appointment
at the higher positions, including the bribery of officials.
On the eve of the May holiday, Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr MAKSYMOV
tries to receive appointment at the position of the deputy commander of
the 3
rd separate motorized rifle brigade due to raised funds
from sale of the equipments of “Rondo” wholesale depot (Horlivka,
Pervomaiska street, 50) and “Mine 2-bis” of the former Mykytiv mercuric
plant for scrap metal. He enlisted aid of the brigade’s commander
Major-General Ihor TYMOFIEYIEV who wrote appropriate petition.
