Situation in the ATO area as of April 29, 2016
The enemy strengthens the forward positions in Donetsk direction. It was registered the movements as follows:
in Donetsk airport direction – anti-tank artillery battery of 100-mm anti-tank guns “Rapira” and howitzer artillery battery of 122-mm howitzer “D-30” of the 100th separte motorized rifle brigade (Donetsk), fire platoon of 152-mm howitzer “Msta-B” of the separate artillery brigade (Donetsk) of the 1st AC (Donetsk) of the Russian Armed Forces;
from Donetsk in the direction of Spartak – up to the company of the 100th separte motorized rifle brigade;
to Oleksandrivka – two SP artillery systems, two IFVs, a truck with the personnel of the 100th separte motorized rifle brigade;
from Makiivka to the direction of Yasynuvata – two trucks with the personnel of the 11th separate motorized rifle regiment (Makiivka) of the 1st AC of the Russian Armed Forces. On April 29, 2016, it is planned to conduct next rotation of the personnel of the regiment’s units acting in the area of industrial zone of Avdiivka.
The supplies of weapons and military equipment, POL from the territory of Russia were observed.
On April 28, 2016, echelon with military equipments (three tanks, two 122-mm MLRS “Hrad”, two trucks), three covered wagons and four cisterns with POL (200 tons) arrived to Debaltseve railway station.
The enemy continued fire influence on the ATO forces units. It was recorded that the adversary shelled 22 times (for the last day – 29) from the small arms, grenade launchers, and 120-mm and 82-mm mortars. The attacks were, as follows: 1 attack – Shchastia (Novoaidar direction), 2 attacks – Novotoshkivske (Sieverodonetsk direction), 9 attacks – Butovka mine, Krasnohorivka, Mariinka (Donetsk direction); 4 attacks – Berezove, Novotroitske (Volnovakha direction); 6 attacks – Shyrokyne (Mariupol direction).
The Ukrainian side informed the representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine about the presence of tanks, 122-mm MLRS "Hrad" and SP artillery systems in the areas of Donetsk, Horlivka, Pervomaisk, Holmivskyi and Komuna.
Other battle casualties among the personnel of units and formations of the 1st AC (Donetsk) and 2nd AC (Luhansk) of the russian Armed Forces were recorded:
one perished and one wounded servicemen of the SRGs of the 9th separate assault motorized rifle Marine Corps regiment (Novoazovsk) of the 1st AC acted in the areas of Oktiabr and Kominternove;
two wounded servicemen of the SRG of the 2nd separate motorized rifle brigade (Luhansk) of the 2nd AC who acted in the area of Stanytsia Luhanska.
It was established other facts of engagements using by Russian military command in the temporarily occupied territories of the East of Ukraine for obtaining of practical skills, including the conducting of weapons training exercises with the military students of military academies and the cadets of higher military educational institutions.
On April 27, 2016, a group of military students (about 50 officers) of Mykhailivska Military Artillery Academy (St. Petersburg) of the Russian Armed Forces arrived to the former Donetsk military lyceum (Kuprin Street 1)
The moral and psychological condition of the servicemen of the 7th separate motorized rifle brigade (Debaltseve) of the 2nd AC (Luhansk) of the Russian Armed Forces remains low. A number of servicemen who willfully abandon brigade’s units increased up to 20% from total strength.
It was established that among 235 servicemen of the 3rd motorized rifle battalion of the 7th separate motorized rifle brigade, during April 2016, 51 willfully abandoned unit and 13 are in hospitals. In order to reduce a critically high-level of desertion in the units of the 1st and 2nd AC of the Russian Armed Forces, HR deputy commander of the Center of the Territorial Forces (Novocherkask, Russia) of the Southern Military District (Rostov-on-Don) Colonel of the Russian Armed Forces O.KANCHURA gave an order to second mobile groups of psychologists to conduct a tests and adopt measures of psychological influence to the 7th separate motorized rifle brigade (Debaltseve) of the 2nd AC, as well as to the 5th separate motorized rifle brigade (Donetsk) and 9th separate assault motorized rifle Marine Corps regiment (Novoazovsk) of the 1st AC.
It was additionally established that command of the 2nd AC refused to the commander of the 7th separate motorized rifle brigade the Russian Armed Forces Colonel O.BUSHUIEV request for awarding him with government decoration that multiply his chances of entering the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. Thereby, O.BUSHUIEV gave an order to produce his personal decoration as much as possible similar to sample, for awarding of the whole brigade’s personnel during the festivities on the occasion of May holiday.
The arrangements on preparation for military parade in the units and formations of the 1st and 2nd AC of the Russian Armed Forces continue. The commanders of the units of the Presidential Regiment of Commandant’s Service of Moscow Kremlin of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation are involved for training.

Il-20 aircraft reconnaissance accomplished air reconnaissance mission with the aim of detection and confirmation of the objectives of the state and military infrastructure of Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.
