The adversary continues to preserve activity in Donetsk
direction. In the area of Avdiyivka, the high intensity of attacks
against ATO forces positions, including with 82-mm mortars, preserves.
In the eastern part of Yasynivka (in household installations), the
presence of a self-propelled howitzer artillery battery of the 11
th separate motorized rifle regiment (Makiyivka) of the 1
st AC was confirmed.
During twenty-four hours, the enemy shelled 19 times from small arms,
grenade launchers, and 82-mm mortars. The attacks were, as follows: 1
attack – Schastia (Novoaidar direction); 3 attacks – Triokhizbenka
(Sieverodonetsk direction); 1 attack –Zaitseve (Slovyansk direction); 5
attacks –Avdiyivka, Maryinka (Donetsk direction); 4 attacks – Berezove
(Volnovakha direction); 5attacks – Shyrokyne (Mariupol direction).
The Ukrainian side informed the representatives of the OSCE Special
Monitoring Mission to Ukraine about the presence of tanks, 122-mm MLRS
"Hrad" and self-propelled artillery in the areas of Donetsk, Spartak,
Artemivsk and Telmanove.
Other losses among the service men of the 1
st (Donetsk) and 2
nd (Luhansk) AC of the Russian Armed Forces were recorded: one service man died, other five service men of the 9
th separate assault motorized rifle regiment of the Marine Corps (Novoazovsk), 100
th separate motorized rifle brigade (Donetsk) of the 1
st AC, as well as the 6
th separate motorized rifle regiment (Stakhanova) of the 2
nd AC were wounded.
The morale of the the 9

st AC of the Russian Armed Forces remains low.

committed an accident and collided a local female citizen with a child.
The injured received a brain concussion, closed fracture of the pelvis,
fracture of an arm and a ruptured spleen.
On April 20, 2016, as a result of a dispute between the service men of the mortar platoon of the 9
th
sep aslt MR regt of the MC, due to the alcohol abuse in Krasnoarmiysk
one mortar died, and another two received serious stabbed wounds.
Given the numerous robberies of private homes of the residents of
Novoazovsk, taking place since early April, 2016, Russian military
commandant decided to temporarily ban the military men of the 9
th sep aslt MR regt of the MC to leave the territory of the unit in personal issues.
Russian occupation authorities continue measures to develop its own
mobile infrastructure in the temporarily occupied areas of Donbas,
paying no attention international sanctions.
It was established that on April 23, 2016, signing of an agreement between the Russian company
OJSC "Rostelecom" and
provider of the so-called LNR "Unitary Enterprise "Luhansk
Communications"("Luhakom") is planned. Under the terms of the agreement,
the Russian operator will directly provide "LNR" services of commercial
cable television and high-speed Internet access.
Meanwhile, Russia rejected to directly transfer codes of the
stationary and mobile communications belonging to the Russian segment of
the numbers of the seventh world zone of numbering (Russia uses such a
scheme in the unrecognized republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia) to
"LNR" for long-term lease. The representatives of Russia returned to the
original version – the use of the so-called LNR numbering resource of
Chechen mobile operator
'Vainakh Telecom".

Larysa Tkachuk insisted
on this variant of cooperation between "Luhakom" and "Vainakh telecom".
According to Russian experts of the telecommunications market, we can
talk about the personal motives of "Megafon", one of the leading mobile
operators in Russia, for the events in 2013. "MegaFon" is interested in
limiting the Chechen mobile operator, also due to the international
sanctions, and is able to use its insiders’ capabilities in Rostelecom.
As it is known, in 2013, the authorities of Chechnya urged residents
of the republic to refuse the services of two national Russian mobile
operators, including "Megafon", in favor of the Chechen provider
"Vainakh Telecom" (at that time, it only had a license of a mobile
operator, but really was an Internet provider), having accused Russian
companies of fraud of virtual voting results during the competition
"Russia-10".
As for the flights of reconnaissance aircrafts of the Russian Armed Forces
along the state border of Ukraine
On April 22, 2016, flights of reconnaissance aircrafts Il-20M,
Su-24MR and antisubmarine aircraft in the airspace of the Black Sea
(along the southern coast of Ukraine), the Crimean Peninsula, Azov Sea
and Krasnodar krai were observed. With the help of equipment installed
on the aircrafts, reconnaissance of the objects and locations of the
Armed Forces of Ukraine in Odessa, Kherson, Zaporozhye and Donetsk
oblasts was carried out.
